RECYCLE EVENT

GONZALES — City of Gonzales and other organizations have planned a Reuse, Recycle and Cleanup Day on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Fairview Middle School, 401 Fourth St. Gonzales residents can dispose of such items as general garbage, electronics, TVs, computers, metal appliances and metal and steel items, including refrigerators and freezers, for free. No yard waste will be accepted. In addition, there will be a special materials collection for antifreeze, batteries, oil and paint.


UKRAINE FUNDRAISER

SALINAS — Church of the Good Shepherd in partnership with Scents of Ukraine will host a fundraiser organized by local Ukrainian refugees on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be traditional Ukrainian dishes, Ukrainian crafts master class for children and adults, and craft vendors and baked goods sale. Proceeds from the event, taking place at 301 Corral de Tierra Road in Salinas, will be directed to support humanitarian aid in Ukraine. For more information, go to goodshepherdcorral.org/ukraine.


GAMING PROGRAM

KING CITY — King City Library will host an afternoon of gaming activities on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. at 402 Broadway St. The program is open to all ages, and there will be a small selection of board games available. Library staff will also be offering free lessons to learn the Pokémon Trading Card game. Attendees are welcome to bring their own games, as well.


BONUS BRIEF: FROZEN MUSICAL

KING CITY — Sol Treasures will present Disney’s “Frozen Jr.” for two weekends in November at the Robert Stanton Theater at King City High School. Performances are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door, or call 831-386-1381 or go to soltreasures.com.
