YOUTH SUMMIT

SOLEDAD — The Youth Councils from Gonzales, Soledad and Greenfield will be hosting their first South County Youth Summit for local students on Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Main Street Middle School in Soledad. There will be guest speakers, workshops, resource fair, raffle prizes and a free lunch. The event’s goal is for students in eighth through 12th grades to gain inspiration, resources and caring connections to make a positive change in the community. NEW FAIR SIGN

KING CITY — To celebrate the achievement of renovating the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds’ Expo Building and pay tribute to the late Nate Holaday, who made extensive contributions to the Salinas Valley Fair, the Fair Board will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and dedication Saturday, May 11, at 11 a.m. at the fairgrounds in King City. The ceremony will unveil the Expo Building’s newly installed sign stating, “Salinas Valley Fair Expo Building in Memory of Nate Holaday.”


CHICKEN BBQ

GREENFIELD — Knights of Columbus Council 12888 is hosting a chicken barbecue on Sunday, May 19, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 27 South El Camino Real, in Greenfield.
