MONTEREY COUNTY — May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and Monterey County Free Libraries is highlighting its Mental Wellness Kits. The kits are designed to support children and teens in addressing mental health challenges. They address such themes as grief, resilience, mindfulness, anger, self-esteem, body image and more with books, games and comfort objects. The kits can be found in the online catalog at catalog.emcfl.org, typing “mental wellness kits” in the search bar. There are also Mental Health Kits for adults, which can be found by searching for “mental health kits” in the library catalog search bar.
ECONOMIC OUTLOOK
SEASIDE — Monterey Bay Economic Partnership’s (MBEP) 2024 Economic Outlook comes to Seaside on Friday, May 3, for an opportunity to delve into key insights on the economic landscape of Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito counties and the chance to network with industry, government and community leaders. The event brings together a leading economic analyst and stakeholders for a deep dive into the data of economics, but also digs into what those numbers really mean for those who live and work in the tri-county region. MBEP’s 2024 Economic Outlook takes place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Embassy Suites, 1441 Canyon Del Rey Boulevard, in Seaside. Reservations can be made online at tinyurl.com/xa8xmcvb.
SPRING CONCERT
KING CITY — King City High School Spring Concert is set for Monday, May 13, at 6 p.m. at the Robert Stanton Theater on the school’s campus. The concert features the KCHS Band and Guitar ensembles, along with special guests including retired music teacher Bruce Graham. There is a $5 entrance fee at the door, with children under 7 free and a $20 cap for families over four members. Donations will also be accepted to support the local musicians.
