ARTIST EXHIBITION

KING CITY — Sol Treasures will host a Meet the Artist event today, March 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. The community can come in to meet and talk to the eight women artists who created images of Monterey County using different mediums. Their art will also be viewable and on display in the main gallery, 519 Broadway St.


TIRE RECYCLING

SALINAS VALLEY — Free tire recycling will take place, hosted by Cal Recycle and Salinas Valley Recycles, from April 1 through May 31. Car and small truck tires, brought in by residents, can be taken to the Salinas Sun Street Transfer Station, the Gonzales Johnson Canyon Landfill or the King City Jolon Road Transfer Station. VETERAN VACCINES

CALIFORNIA — All veterans, regardless of VA healthcare eligibility, enrollment or service status, along with their spouses and caregivers, may now get vaccinated through Veterans Affairs. Locally, VA Palo Alto is encouraging veterans and spouses of veterans to register online for Covid-19 vaccinations. Veterans of any age who currently have VA health care can also call VA Palo Alto Health Care System at 650-496-2535 to register for a vaccination.


BONUS BRIEF: FIREWORK PERMITS

GREENFIELD — Applications for permits to sell safe and sane fireworks in the city of Greenfield will open April 22. Application packets for nonprofit organizations interested in applying can be found on the city website.
