LOCKWOOD — Monterey County Supervisor Chris Lopez and his District 3 office will be hosting a community listening session on Monday, March 18, in Lockwood. The session will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Lockwood Community Center, 65951 Lockwood-Jolon Road. Residents are invited to share their thoughts and concerns about the community and county government.


SOLEDAD — An affordable housing workshop, specific to Las Viviendas properties, will take place Monday, March 18, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Hartnell College’s Soledad Education Center, 1505 Metz Road. Topics include: what’s an affordable home, restrictions on affordable homes, approval process, closing process and resale restriction. SALINAS — Every first Tuesday of the month, Alliance on Aging’s Senior Luncheon at St. Ansgar’s Church in Salinas brings together around 90 seniors for a meal and much-needed companionship. The rising costs, however, are making it hard for many to afford. Donations are being sought to help keep the senior luncheons going. To donate, visit
