GREENFIELD — Greenfield Police Department invites the community to attend Coffee with a Cop on Friday, July 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Starbucks, 367 Walnut Ave., in Greenfield. The event is an opportunity for residents and officers to discuss issues within the community and learn more about each other.


SALINAS — A Community Open House will be held Saturday, July 30, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Rancho Cielo, 710 Old Stage Road, in Salinas. The community is invited to come and learn about Rancho Cielo and its programs for youth ages 16 to 24, who can earn high school diplomas and vocational certificates for free. MONTEREY COUNTY — Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) is hosting its sixth annual Rural County Photo Contest through July 31. The contest invites individuals to submit their photographs capturing life in rural California and showcasing the beautiful scenery, activities, communities, history and charm of RCRC’s 39 member counties, including Monterey County. All entries must be received by July 31, be the original work of the submitter, and must include: location where the photo was taken, including the county in which it was taken; and photographer’s full name and email address. Photo entries should be sent to [email protected]. The grand-prize winner will receive a $100 gift card, and the winning photograph will be unveiled at the September RCRC Board of Directors Meeting.
