BURN PERMITS

CENTRAL COAST — Cal Fire lifted the burn permit suspension in Monterey and San Benito counties on Jan. 23 due to cooler temperatures and significant rainfall forecasted in the area. Those with current and valid agricultural and residential burn permits can now resume burning on permissible burn days; however, agricultural burns must be inspected by Cal Fire. Burn permits are required for burning, and residents wishing to burn must verify it is a permissive burn day prior to burning by checking http://mbard.org or calling 800-225-2876. For more information on burning, visit Cal Fire’s website fire.ca.gov.
