FARM DAY VOLUNTEERS

KING CITY — More volunteers are needed for South County Farm Day on Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds in King City. The annual event gives an opportunity for local students to become familiar with food production and farming. Volunteers can sign up at montereycountyageducation.org. Lunch will be provided.


COMMUNITY CONVERSATION

SOLEDAD — City of Soledad’s Economic Development Department is inviting the community to the first Cafecito and Conversation with Economic Development of the year on Thursday, Jan. 25, from 8 to 9 a.m. at Soledad City Hall, 248 Main St. New employer laws in California that are set to take effect in July will be discussed. Special guest will be the Soledad Merchants Association.


CLAM CHOWDER DINNER

KING CITY — Monterey County Agricultural and Rural Life Museum (MCARLM) presents the Drury Tankersley 29th Annual Clam Chowder Dinner on Friday, Jan. 26, at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds in King City. Takeout is from 3 to 7 p.m., with the sit-down dinner served from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at King City Chamber of Commerce, LA Hearne, Pleyto Store, MCARLM, Pine Canyon Store, 1st Capital Bank and Hestia Coffee Shop. Event proceeds will benefit MCARLM.
