GATE CLOSURE

JOLON — Fort Hunter Liggett’s Main Gate will be closed Feb. 5-9 for renovations. Signs will be posted to direct traffic to the alternate access site near the Hacienda and past the Main Gate. Visitors must check in at the Visitor Control Center first. If the VCC is closed or if its after hours, proceed to the alternate access site for vetting. All visiting drivers must be ready to present a second form of identification. Check the FHL Visitor Info webpage for acceptable IDs.


PINNACLES VOLUNTEERS

SOLEDAD — Volunteer opportunities are back at Pinnacles National Park, with drop-in days of service set for Feb. 10 and 17, March 9 and 16, April 20 and 27 and May 4 and 11. These drop-in dates for projects like trail maintenance and weed pulling are open to anyone interested in volunteering, with no group required. There are also opportunities for larger groups or businesses that want to take part in a team-building restoration project. PRESEASON OPENER

SEASIDE — Monterey Bay Football Club has announced its first match of the 2024 preseason, a fixture against USL League One’s Central Valley Fuego FC on Saturday, Feb. 10. Set to kick off at Cardinale Stadium in Seaside, the Club’s preseason opener will be free to all 2024 Monterey Bay F.C. season ticket holders. The match will begin at 4 p.m. and will give Crisp-and-Kelp fans their very first look at the squad ahead of the new USL Championship campaign. For the general public, tickets to the match are available for purchase now. In addition to fans getting to see this year’s edition of the Union for the first time, the match will also feature an interesting coaching matchup. Just down the touchline from Monterey Bay Head Coach Frank Yallop will be Central Valley Fuego FC’s new gaffer — U.S. Men’s National Team alum Jermaine Jones, who will be managing his first match as a Head Coach at the League One level.
