TAX PREP

MONTEREY COUNTY — United Way Monterey County has launched its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance service, offering free tax preparation services through Tax Day, April 15. UWMC and IRS-trained VITA volunteers will provide this service in English and Spanish for anyone who earned less than $57,000 in 2020. Visit the UWMC website or call 211 for details and next steps.


WORKSHOP AWARD

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Community Science Workshop was awarded $20,000 through the Chevron Aces for Access program, which provides funding to youth-serving nonprofits with a focus on bridging the digital divide and STEM education. The donation was in conjunction with the 2021 AT&T Pro Am, and other recipients included Central Coast YMCA ($25,000), Foundation for Monterey County Free Libraries ($25,000) and Girls Inc. of the Central Coast ($20,000).


SERVICES SURVEY

MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County residents have been invited by the Monterey County Community Action Partnership to complete a survey to help prioritize the needs and services for low-income residents in the county. The survey can be found at http://bit.ly/2ZpVobP.
