SALINAS — Monterey County Permit Center public counter has reopened for in-person service on Feb. 11. The counter closed to the public on Jan. 18 due to a surge in Covid-19 exposures, but remained open virtually to serve the public. Counter hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Monterey County Permit Center, located at 1441 Schilling Place, 2nd Floor-South in Salinas.


STATE OF THE CITY

KING CITY — King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture will host the annual “State of the City” luncheon on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 12 p.m. inside the Orradre Building at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds in King City. Speakers include King City Police Chief Keith Boyd, Mayor Mike LeBarre and City Manager Steve Adams, along with presentations by Fort Hunter Liggett Col. Lisa Lamb, garrison commander, and Kendra Howell of the Blue Zones Project.


GREENHOUSE GASES

MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Sustainability Program has released the draft Community Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory Report. The report outlines the data and methods used to calculate the greenhouse gas emissions inventory for the county’s Community Climate Action and Adaptation Plan, and is available for review through Feb. 18. A virtual Q&A session at the Alternative Energy and Environment Committee meeting will also be held Feb. 25, during which questions about the report may still be raised.
