LUNCHEON MEETING

KING CITY — Southern Monterey County Republican Women Federated will host its monthly luncheon meeting Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 11:30 a.m. at King Kora Restaurant, 611 Canal St., in King City. There will be live Christmas music and songs until noon and the 2022-23 officers of the club will be installed. Members will be bringing stuffed animals to be donated to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and given to children in stressful situations. Everyone is welcome. COOKING DEMO

MONTEREY COUNTY — Chef Brandon Miller will conduct the final Zoom cooking demonstration of 2021 for Everyone’s Harvest Certified Farmers’ Markets on Tuesday, Dec. 7, from 4 to 5 p.m. The cooking demo will focus on preparing unusual vegetable side dishes for the holidays featuring winter produce, such as squash, Brussels sprouts and root vegetables that are plentiful at Everyone’s Harvest markets. TRUTH HEARING

MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Board of Supervisors will host a special Truth Act hearing on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 5:30 p.m. inside its Chambers, 168 W. Alisal St., in Salinas. As required by law, the governing body of any county or city in which local law enforcement has provided the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency access to an individual during the previous year must provide information to the public about ICE’s access to individuals and receive and consider public comment. The public is welcome to attend this meeting in person, and it will be streamed live online at co.monterey.ca.us.

KING CITY — Robert Cullen Farmers Insurance will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 7, for leading the way in becoming a Blue Zones Project approved organization.
