PARK CLOSURES

KING CITY — City of King has temporarily closed the Aera Soccer Park and Creekbridge Baseball Park beginning Dec. 9 through Feb. 28 for repairs and renovation. City staff will be aerating, seeding, performing gopher abatement and restoring the grass during the winter months. The closure is part of a rotating plan that will involve all parks on a periodic basis. Other King City fields and parks are still open, including San Antonio Park, on the corner of Bedford and San Antonio Drive; and City Park, located behind the King City Pools on South Vanderhurst Avenue.


JOB FAIR

SALINAS — U.S. Postal Service will host a job fair at the Salinas Post Office, 1011 Post Drive, on Friday, Dec. 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. At the free walk-in job fair, assistance will be given to help attendees create an employment profile and immediately apply for jobs. The Postal Service has an immediate need for the following positions to be filled: rural carrier assistant, postal support employee and city carrier assistant. Social distancing and facemasks are required.


BLOOD DRIVE

SALINAS — Donors of all blood types are encouraged to donate blood on Friday, Dec. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hartnell College, 411 Central Ave., in Salinas. To encourage donors to help address the historically low blood supply this holiday season, those who give blood Dec. 17 through Jan. 2 will receive an exclusive Red Cross long-sleeved T-shirt, while supplies last.
