COOKING DEMO

KING CITY — To celebrate National Wellness Month, Mee Memorial Healthcare System will host a special cooking demo on Wednesday, Aug. 10, to help encourage wellness through a healthful diet. The free event will take place at 12:30 p.m. at Mee Memorial Hospital’s Rose Garden patio, 300 Canal St., in King City, where Chef Brandon Miller will create a summer-friendly cauliflower gazpacho.


HOUSING WORKSHOP

SOLEDAD — Soledad residents are invited to attend a Landlord-Tenant Rights Workshop on Wednesday, Aug. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. Sponsored by City of Soledad and ECHO Housing, the virtual workshop offers an overview of the state housing laws as they relate to such topics as: evictions and termination, including AB-1482; security deposit; rent increases, including AB-110; and habitability and requesting repairs.
