KING CITY — Union Pacific Railroad will be closing Lonoak Road at the railroad crossing at First Street in King City for railroad repairs, beginning at 6 a.m. on Aug. 22 through Aug. 27. There will be no through traffic on a 24-hour basis for the duration of the closure. All traffic must use the designated detour. SOLEDAD — Soledad Fourth of July Committee will present the Pop Event on Sunday, Aug. 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at California Gourmet Pizza, 235 West St., in Soledad. This is a free event for the public, featuring many vendors, food and fun for the entire family. Proceeds will go toward the 2023 fireworks show.
