SHERIFF SURVEY

MONTEREY COUNTY — As part of the County of Monterey’s community listening process regarding Sheriff’s Oversight, a community survey is now available to get comments and feedback on this issue. On July 26, the County hosted the first community listening session for residents to share information regarding Assembly Bill 1185, which authorizes each county to create a sheriff oversight board, the types of oversight boards, what accountability measures are already in place for the Monterey County Sheriff and how an oversight board would impact current jail operations, costs and staffing within the Sheriff’s Office. A second outreach to residents is a community survey. The survey is in English and Spanish and available online at surveymonkey.com/r/6MRPZXB.
