DRUG DISPOSAL

GONZALES — Gonzales Police Department will be hosting National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 22. Residents can eliminate prescription drug abuse by turning in expired or unused prescription drugs — with no questions asked — from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gonzales police station, 109 Fourth St.


EARTH DAY

GREENFIELD — A special Earth Day celebration will take place Saturday, April 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Scheid Vineyards winery and tasting room in Greenfield. Attendees will receive a fresh field-to-fork lunch from Stone Creek Kristina, while being guided through Scheid Vineyards’ sustainably grown wines by Vice President of Winemaking Dave Nagengast, in addition to other presentations about sustainability practices within the wine industry from special guests. POP-UP PANTRY

SALINAS VALLEY — Hartnell College will host a pop-up pantry food distribution for students in South Monterey County on Tuesdays, April 25 and May 2. The distribution will take place at 11 a.m., while supplies last, at the King City Education Center, 117 N. Second St., and the Soledad Education Center, 1505 Metz Road. It is open to enrolled Hartnell students, who must bring their Hartnell ID to receive one bag each.
