KING CITY — Volunteers from Sun Street Centers recently helped Southern Monterey County Center for the Performing Arts board members with some much-needed upkeep at the Robert Stanton Theater in King City.

The Covid-19 pandemic prevented the organization from caring for the roses in front of the auditorium for more than a year, which got out of hand. On May 29, a large crew from Sun Street’s King City location came out to help board members tackle this thorny job.

“They did great work and we finished in record time,” said Bob Walton, with the SoMoCo Center for the Performing Arts. “All of our board members join me in thanking them for their public service.”

The project was part of the organization’s mission to “preserve, protect and enhance King City’s Robert Stanton Theater for the enjoyment of all.”
