SOUTH COUNTY — More than 2,800 total participants in the 16th annual AIDS/LifeCycle bike ride visited the South County area Monday while embarking on a 545-mile journey from San Francisco to Los Angeles this week. Nearly 2,200 cyclists and 675 volunteer “roadies” spent the night at San Lorenzo County Park in King City before continuing their ride the next morning. Participants raised $15.1 million this year for the fundraiser, which supports local HIV/AIDS-related services.
