KING CITY — Hartnell Community College District will host an open forum next Wednesday to present information on the future expansion and improvements to the King City Education Center.

Presented by the district’s Facilities Planning and Construction Management Department, the Feb. 14 forum will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the King City Education Center, 117 N. Second St., Room 108A.

Hartnell College President Dr. Willard Lewallen will lead the presentation and describe the expansion project for the local campus.

According to Hartnell, the King City Education Center will be expanded by a two-story, 10,000 gross square footage addition, which will nearly double the size of the existing facility. The expansion will provide an enhanced student experience with new active learning classrooms, science labs and a student success center.

In addition, the new space will include opportunities for engagement with the community through joint-use facilities.

Related site improvements include all utilities, parking, hardscape/landscape and outdoor spaces.

At the conclusion of the forum, attendees will receive a link to a survey in order to provide feedback/comments to the district on this project.
