Florence Castillo Perez, 88, passed away on May 18, 2019 in Salinas with her family by her side. Florence was born April 28, 1931 in Austin, Texas.

Foremost, Florence enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren and babysitting for family. Florence enjoyed her gardening and morning coffee with friends and family, cooking for anyone, her television programs, reading and being informed on political events. She was a “True Blue” Democrat.

Florence attended church services during special events but primarily she was a spiritual person with prayer and reading devotions. She worked hard, developed special skills and a very strong work ethic. At one time caretaking for disabled persons after retirement. In her early years she laundered Governor LBJ’s table linens for the State Capitol.

Florence is survived by her children, Ralph Perez Jr. (Dawna), Johnny Perez (Becky), Jessie Perez, Joey Perez (Dee), James Perez (Irma) and Lupe (Perez) Anderson.

Those wishing to do so may donate to Catholic Charities for the homeless in remembrance of Florence.

A Visitation will be held, 5pm to 7pm, Thursday, May 23, 2019 followed by a 7pm Rosary Service at Eddington Funeral Services Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held 10am, Friday, May 24, 2019 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Greenfield.
