KING CITY — Ongoing paving and bridgework on Highway 101 in King City will continue with the closure of the northbound Broadway Street onramp in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Aug. 9.

Temporary concrete railing will be placed along the roadway to block the northbound Broadway onramp. Caltrans said work on the onramp will be performed behind this railing, and a detour will be available.

Travelers who would otherwise enter northbound 101 at Broadway Street will be able to travel on Broadway to River Drive and then Canal Street to access the highway at the Canal Street onramp.

Prior to this closure, the northbound Canal Street onramp and the northbound Broadway Street offramp, which are currently closed for construction, will be opened to motorists in the late-night hours of Monday, Aug. 8.

Message and directional signs will be in place to direct travelers, who can expect delays of up to 10 minutes.

The $78 million construction project is expected to be completed at the end of September 2022.
