MONTEREY COUNTY — Ballots for the Nov. 5 Presidential General Election have begun mailing as of Oct. 3, and there are a couple of things Monterey County voters should know to get vote ready.

Monterey County local voter information guides and state voter information guides are now in the mail and will continue to mail into this week.

All active voters will receive a ballot in the mail and in-person voting options will be available.

Important Dates:

  • Oct. 7 — Ballots mailed by this date
  • Oct. 7 — In-person voting available at the Monterey County Elections Office, 1441 Schilling Place – Salinas
  • Oct. 21 — Deadline to register to vote
  • Oct. 22 — Same day voter registration period begins
  • Oct. 26-27 — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Weekend Voting at Monterey County Elections
  • Oct. 29 — Last day the Elections Office will mail ballots to voters; last recommended day for voters to return ballots via USPS; and Elections Satellite Office, Embassy Suites, 1441 Canyon Del Rey Blvd, Seaside opens for early in-person voting
  • Nov. 2-3 — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Weekend Voting at Monterey County Elections and Embassy Suites in Seaside
  • Nov. 5 — Last day to vote in-person or return your ballot. Voting ends at 8 p.m.

Voters can check their voter information, by visiting voterstatus.sos.ca.gov. Voters can track their ballot at every step of the way by signing up for BallotTrax at https://montereycounty.ballottrax.net/voter/.
