KING CITY — City of King is inviting community members to participate in a public workshop focused on the San Antonio Drive Path and Safe Routes to School Project.

The workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. inside the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 212 S. Vanderhurst Ave., in King City.

Funded by an $11 million state grant, the project aims to enhance pedestrian safety and promote bike-friendliness throughout the area.

Key features include a dedicated bike path along San Antonio Drive, extending from Mildred Avenue to Broadway Street and then continuing west to King City High School. Additional plans include the installation of roundabouts at intersections on Broadway Street, between San Antonio Drive and Mildred Avenue, as well as bike lanes on Mildred Avenue.

City Manager Steve Adams emphasized the project’s significance, stating, “This will be a major project for the community. It is designed to improve pedestrian safety, reduce traffic congestion at each intersection on Broadway Street adjacent to the high school and make the community more bike-friendly.”

The workshop will provide an opportunity for residents to learn more about the project, ask questions and voice their opinions. Translation services, child care and free refreshments will also be available.

Community members are encouraged to attend and contribute their insights. For more information, contact City Hall at 831-385-3281.
