KING CITY — King City Police Department responded to a report of a welfare check on a woman who left her family’s residence after threatening to harm her two small children and herself on Dec. 21 at about 11:17 a.m.

Through the investigation it was discovered that Jacquiline Guajardo physically assaulted her 11-year-old son, causing a laceration and him to bleed.

An area Be-On-the-Look-Out was issued for Guajardo and her vehicle. With the assistance of the California Highway Patrol, an AMBER Alert was also issued.

A CHP officer out of the San Jose Area Office spotted Guajardo’s vehicle and conducted an enforcement stop on the vehicle, where he contacted Guajardo and her other two children.

Guajardo was taken into custody and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for child abuse. The children were safe and returned to family members.

“The King City Police Department would like to thank our allied Law Enforcement Partners for their assistance which resulted in a safe conclusion to this investigation,” stated KCPD in a news release.
