KING CITY — King City will be opening a cooling center due to the rising temperatures expected in the region throughout the upcoming weekend.

The cooling center will be located in the Orradre Building at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds, 625 Division St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily June 24 through June 27.

“The City would like to extend its thanks to the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds for their partnership in opening the cooling center,” said King City Chief of Police Keith Boyd in a news release Thursday.

In addition, the King City Recreation Center pool at 401 Division St. is open Tuesday through Sunday, from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission to the pool is $3 for those 8 years old and younger and $4 for those 9 years old or older.
