KING CITY — A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the killing of three people in King City.

Following a pair of local search warrants executed Friday morning, King City Police arrested the teen for three counts of homicide. Detectives said they found “probable cause to believe the juvenile was involved in the commission of the crime.”

In December, King City residents Carlos Lopez Sanchez, 20, and Selena Gonzalez Godoy, 18, were shot and killed in the area of Sussex Way and Wellington Avenue. An autopsy determined that Godoy was more than eight weeks pregnant at the time, according to police.

The juvenile is the fourth suspect arrested for their involvement in the Dec. 26 fatal shooting. Police have also arrested 20-year-old Raul Lucas and 19-year-old Guillermo Becerra, both of Salinas, for the murders.

Another suspect, 28-year-old Rocio Martinez of Salinas, was arrested on various weapon charges as well as aiding and abetting in the murder of the victims.

Elizar Ayron Arellano

King City Police is continuing its efforts to locate a fifth suspect, 19-year-old Elizar Ayron Arellano of King City, who is considered armed and dangerous.

“If members of the public know the whereabouts of Arellano, they are asked to not attempt to contact Arellano, as he is considered armed and dangerous, and instead contact the King City Police Department at 831-755-5111 and advise them they believe they have seen Arellano, the location and time where they saw Arellano, a description of Arellano’s clothing and any vehicle that may be related to him,” police said.

Anyone with further information about this investigation is asked to contact Sgt. John Dow of KCPD at 831-386-5988 or [email protected]; or call the anonymous WeTip line at 1-800-78-CRIME.

“This is an active and ongoing investigation, and no additional information will be released at this time,” police said.
