KING CITY — King City Police is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing at-risk juvenile who reportedly ran away from her foster home in the 500 block of Basset Street yesterday.

At about 9:08 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, officers responded to the residence regarding a report of a runaway 15-year-old Hispanic girl, later identified as Matilde Gonzalez Garcia, a foster child who was due to be placed with another foster family.

Garcia was last seen at the residence on Nov. 20 at about 5:15 p.m. She was wearing a mustard yellow covered sweatshirt and blue jeans and was in possession of two black backpacks.

Garcia is about 5-foot-tall and 125 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Police said her hair is “extremely long going past her waistline.”

“King City Police Department is requesting the assistance of the public with this ongoing and active investigation,” police said in a news release Wednesday.
