KING CITY — An officer-involved shooting occurred Monday evening, following the report of a stabbing incident in King City.

Officers from the King City Police Department responded to the incident in the 1200 block of Bluff Avenue at about 6:15 p.m. on Dec. 19. 

Upon arrival, they encountered a male subject “brandishing a knife in a threatening manner,” according to King City Police Chief Keith Boyd.

“An officer involved shooting incident then occurred,” Boyd said. 

Pursuant to the Monterey County Officer Involved Shooting protocol, KCPD has requested the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office begin an investigation into the incident.

No other details have been released.
