KING CITY — King City Police Department has arrested a man for attempted murder following a shooting last month that injured one person.

On Nov. 26, local officers responded to the 200 block of Sussex Way in King City on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Through follow-up investigation, Adrian Hernandez of King City was identified as the suspect responsible for the shooting, police said.

KCPD, with the assistance of the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, Monterey County Probation Department and the Greenfield Police Department, served a search warrant at Hernandez’s residence on Dec. 7.

Hernandez was located at the residence and taken into custody without incident. He was booked into Monterey County Jail for attempted murder.

“The investigation is ongoing,” police said.
