KING CITY — On May 17, at about 12:31 p.m., officers from the King City Police Department were dispatched to the 800 block of Broadway for a fight in progress. The suspects, three male Hispanics, left in a brown GMC Yukon, and one of the occupants was wearing a lime green traffic vest.

Upon the officer’s arrival, the victim stated he was in the parking lot when the occupants, for no reason and in an unprovoked attack, struck him in the head several times. The victim declined medical aid and suffered minor injuries.

Through the ongoing investigation, officers were able to identify the third unknown suspect as Alejandro Ramirez, 24, of King City, a known Sureno gang member. Ramirez is on parole supervision by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Parole Services Unit.

State parole agents and officers with the King City Police Department contacted Ramirez in the 500 block of Canal and took him into custody without incident. Parole agents placed CDCR holds on Ramirez for violating terms of his parole by committing new crimes and associating with known gang members. Ramirez was taken to Monterey County Jail on charges of battery and parole violation.

The King City Police Department would like to thank the citizens for providing valuable information during this investigation. Anyone with further information in regards to this case may call Officers Joseph Andriola or Elias Orozco at 831-386-5980 or the WeTip line at 1-800-78-CRIME.
