KING CITY — King City Police Department and the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a subject with a firearm threatening to kill another person on Nov. 20 at about 5:51 a.m. in the 600 block of Canal Street.

Officers contacted the subject, identified as 37-year-old Adrian Hernandez Osorio of King City, who was found to have a replica firearm, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Hernandez Osorio was safely taken into custody.

Police said further investigation determined Hernandez Osorio suspected the victim was “involved in criminal activity and breaking into vehicles when, in fact, he was merely gathering property from his own vehicle.”

“King City Police Department would like to remind the community not to take matters into their own hands when they suspect someone is engaging in criminal activity,” police said in a news release. “Please call the police for assistance and be a good witness.”
