KING CITY — King City Lions Club will host its annual White Cane Day on Saturday, Oct. 8, with tables set up at Safeway and Ace Hardware in King City for monetary donations.

The majority of funds collected will benefit local children by providing eye exams and eyeglasses. The club provides $4,000 to $8,000 each year for this service.

In addition, used glasses may be dropped off at Saturday’s donation locations, as well as year round at the King City Library, 402 Broadway St. The glasses are refurbished for those in need.

“Remember, the proceeds benefit needy children in our community,” said King City Lions Club Chairman David Daines.
