KING CITY — Monterey County Free Libraries has a new photo collection from King City available for viewing on the MCFL Local History Digital Archive.

The King City Branch Historical Photo Collection includes 51 historical images from the 1890s to the 1950s, showing an array of King City events, people, buildings and scenes of daily life. These prints have been on display in the King City Branch Library but are now viewable online as well.

The images were originally donated by Grace Leese Ten Eyck. Information about the photos was collected by King City Librarian Robin Cauntay, while John Jernigan, Howard Strohn and Marlene Thomasen contributed historical information, with sources including the King City Rustler.

Kate Black, an MCFL Archives intern from the San Jose State University School of Information, completed the scanning and metadata creation.

All items are accessible directly from the website https://cdm16615.contentdm.oclc.org/digital.
