KING CITY ā€” King City Cemetery, an official Wreaths Across America location, will host a wreath-laying ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 10 a.m., joining more than 3,500 other locations across the country for National Wreaths Across America Day. Ā

Coordinated and led by local volunteers and fundraising groups, they will place wreaths on veteransā€™ graves at the cemetery. This annual event seeks to further the Wreaths Across America mission of ā€œRemember, Honor, Teach,ā€ ensuring that the memory of those who served the country endures.

Students from Soledad, Greenfield and King City High ROTC programs, as well as the military from Fort Hunter Liggett will be participating in the ceremony.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Volunteers are needed to place the wreaths and are asked to meet at King City Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. prior to the ceremony for instructions.

Volunteers are also needed to mark the veteran graves on Friday, Dec. 15, at 1 p.m. at the cemetery.
