KING CITY — King City Cemetery, an official Wreaths Across America location, will host a wreath-laying ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 10 a.m., joining more than 3,500 other locations across the country for National Wreaths Across America Day.

Coordinated and led by local volunteers and fundraising groups, they will place wreaths on veterans’ graves at the cemetery. This annual event seeks to further the Wreaths Across America mission of “Remember, Honor, Teach,” ensuring that the memory of those who served the country endures.

Students from Soledad, Greenfield and King City High ROTC programs, as well as the military from Fort Hunter Liggett will be participating in the ceremony.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Volunteers are needed to place the wreaths and are asked to meet at King City Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. prior to the ceremony for instructions.

Volunteers are also needed to mark the veteran graves on Friday, Dec. 15, at 1 p.m. at the cemetery.

For more information on this event or to donate a wreath, contact Kathy Imamura at 408-802-4437 or [email protected].
