KING CITY — King City Cemetery, an official Wreaths Across America location, will host a wreath-laying ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m., joining more than 3,000 other locations across the country for National Wreaths Across America Day.

Coordinated and led by local volunteers, fundraising groups have raised funds throughout the year to sponsor the placement of 430 wreaths on the headstones of fallen service members laid to rest there.

This annual event seeks to further the Wreaths Across America mission of “Remember, Honor, Teach,” ensuring that the memory of those who served the country endures.

There will be a color guard from Fort Hunter Liggett as well as local 4-H clubs participating in the ceremony on Saturday.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Volunteers are needed to place the wreaths and are asked to meet at the cemetery, 1010 Broadway St., at 9:30 a.m. prior to the ceremony for instructions.
