CLOVIS — King City High School runner Roman Munoz placed 10th in heat one at the California Interscholastic Federation State Track and Field Championships on Friday at Buchanan High School in Clovis.

Munoz ran the 1600 in 4:21.50 in a heat that included eventual State Champion Luis Armijo from the San Juaquin Section. Armijo won the State title in a time of 4:08.62 in Saturday’s final.

Munoz had a glorious career as a runner at King City with two State berths in the 1600 and winning the Central Coast Section Cross Country Division IV title three times as an individual.
