KING CITY — Community Food Pantry of King City will be partnering again with Goodwill Industries for another collection drive this weekend.

The food pantry is asking King City residents to bring new or gently used items — such as clothing, shoes, books, blankets, linens, curtains, dishes, kitchenware, bikes, DVDs, small kitchen appliances and all other general household items — to the Goodwill donation trailer.

Furniture, beds, mattresses, large appliances, exercise equipment or baby items, such as strollers, swings or car seats, cannot be accepted.

The trailer will be parked at the King City High School Broadway Street parking lot for two days from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 15 and 16.

“The Goodwill collection drives are a very important fundraiser for the food pantry and help us fulfill our mission of providing food assistance for our community members in need,” said organizer Peggy Keirn.

For every trailer filled, Goodwill will donate $1,000 to the food pantry.

“This is a great time opportunity for cleaning and clearing out those still useful, unwanted items while benefiting your local food pantry,” Keirn added. “All funds raised stay in King City to assist our residents in need.”
