David Padilla, 53 originally from King City passed away on February 16, 2017 in Garden Grove, California. David was born March 20, 1963 in King City.
He attended King City grade schools. He participated in King City Little League and Pop Warner football. He attended King City High School where he participated in football, basketball and baseball. He graduated from King City High School in 1981. He received his AA Degree from Fresno City College and attended Fresno State.
David joined the California Army National Guard on February 23, 1988 and was honorably discharged February 23, 1996. He served his country proudly.
David eventually moved to Orange, California November 16, 1995. He was a coach for the Orange Little League in 1997. He began to volunteer as an umpire for Orange Little League in 1998 for District #30 and then moved on to South County District #55 in 2003. He began working for Weyerhaeuser/International Paper, Anaheim, California on March 12, 2001 as an assistant machine operator.
David is survived by his wife, Jenell Padilla; parents, Frank and Lupe Padilla; brother, Frank Padilla Jr. and sister-in-law, Tammy Nunez; sister, Eva Padilla and brother-in-law, Flint Sweet; niece, Kelsey Padilla; nephews, Grant Padilla, Curtis Cook (Liz), AJ Julian and wife Alexa and Jared Julian; great niece, Harlow Julian; great nephews, Lucas Cook, Maddox Julian and Indy Julian; sister-in-law, Joetta Cook-Hessler (Jenell’s sister) and brother-in-law Phil (Joetta’s husband); brother-in-law, Al Julian and sister-in-law, Shawn Julian; also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 504 N. Third St., King City.
