Courrejou selected to Hall of Fame

SOLEDAD — Gonzales High multi-athlete Michelle Courrejou of the Class of 1981 has been chosen as a member of the Hartnell College Athletic Hall of Fame for 2017. Courrejou will be inducted to the Hall of Fame on Saturday, Nov. 4, on the Hartnell campus.

“It was really exciting to hear that I was chosen to the Hall of Fame,” said Courrejou of Soledad. “I played on the basketball team and the softball team at Hartnell.”

Prior to attending Hartnell, Courrejou was a three-sport athlete at Gonzales, playing on the tennis, basketball, and softball teams. Courrejou played guard on the Spartan basketball teams and shortstop on the softball teams. Courrejou was an All-Mission Trail Athletic League player in basketball and softball and was All-Coast Conference at Hartnell.

Courrejou will be inducted into the Hall of Fame with athletes Tamisha (Allen) Smith (track and field, basketball, volleyball); Janis Diggs (volleyball, track and field); John Lucido (baseball); Rick Rebozzi (football); Craig Rigsbee (football); and Joel Sanchez (soccer).

The 1992 Men’s cross country team, the 1980 football team, and the 1994 softball team will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame along with soccer and tennis coach Alex Golomeic and football coach Dick Voris. Hartnell supporters Vic Collins and Mac Coronado will be enshrined into the Hall of Fame.
