KING CITY — Community Food Pantry of King City is again partnering with Goodwill Industries for another collection drive in April.

The Food Pantry is asking local residents to bring new or gently used items, such as clothing, shoes, books, blankets, linens, curtains, dishes, kitchenware, bikes, DVDs, small kitchen appliances and all other general household items, to the Goodwill donation trailer.

Volunteers cannot accept any furniture, beds, mattresses, exercise equipment, large appliances or baby items, such as strollers or car seats.

The trailer will be parked at King City High School’s Broadway Street parking lot for two days, Saturday and Sunday, April 15 and 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“The donation drives are a very important fundraising event for the pantry, and pantry volunteers are very grateful for the community’s support,” said organizer Peggy Keirn.

For every trailer filled, Goodwill will donate $1,000 to the Food Pantry, which goes directly to funding its food distribution program.

“This is a great time to start spring cleaning and clearing out those still useful, unwanted items while benefiting your local food pantry,” Keirn said. “All funds raised stay in King City to assist our residents in need.”
