KING CITY — The Community Food Pantry of King City is again partnering with Goodwill Industries for another collection drive Nov. 3 and 4.
The Food Pantry is asking King City residents to bring gently used items, such as clothing, shoes, books, blankets, linens, curtains, dishes, kitchenware, bikes, CDs, DVDs, small kitchen appliances, light furniture and all other general household items to the Goodwill donation trailer. However, large, heavy furniture, beds, mattresses and large appliances cannot be accepted at the trailer.
The trailer will be parked at the Broadway parking lot at King City High School for two days from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pantry volunteers will be on hand to help load the donated items into the trailer. For every trailer filled, Goodwill will donate $1,000 to the food pantry.
“This is a win-win-win event,” according to Peggy Keirn, event coordinator.
Goodwill will receive goods that can later be sold to support their programs and residents can clear out their houses, garages and storage units. Also, the Community Food Pantry will receive much-needed funds to support their food distribution program for King City residents in need.
“The donation drives are a very important fundraising event for the pantry, and pantry volunteers are very grateful for the community’s support,” Keirn said.
Residents can bring items to donate to the trailer Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 3 and 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Large, heavy furniture, mattresses and large appliances cannot be accepted at the trailer.
“So start clearing out those unwanted items now and benefit your local food pantry,” added Keirn.
