
KING CITY — Firefighters from multiple South Monterey County agencies responded to a commercial structure fire late Monday night near the King City Airport.
King City Fire Department was dispatched to the fire on Airport Boulevard at about 10:30 p.m. on April 27. According to the department, 19 firefighters responded with two pumpers and a ladder truck.
Cal Fire BEU stated firefighters from Cal Fire, King City Fire, Greenfield Fire and the South Monterey County Fire Protection District “worked side by side for over five hours to bring the incident under control and ensure the scene was fully stabilized prior to being released.”
Additional assistance came from Pine Canyon Firefighters and Monterey County Regional Fire, which provided an air support rig used to refill air tanks.
King City Fire officials called the incident a “great team effort” and thanked neighboring agencies for their mutual aid support.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
