Chamber luncheon hosts fair participants

KING CITY — More than 50 people attended King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture’s monthly luncheon May 4 to learn more about this year’s Salinas Valley Fair, which kicks off Thursday, May 18, and continues through Sunday, May 21.

Under the theme “Cowboy Up and Wind Down,” the 2017 Fair features the annual Junior Livestock Auction, carnival rides and games, live music, bull riding, wrestling, hot rod truck pulling and many other family-friendly activities in addition to food and drink vendors.

A few of this year’s show participants stopped by the chamber luncheon, hosted by the Fair in the Heritage Room at the fairgrounds.

Gillian and Keith Ewart and Reese and Avery Ferrari, all of King City Arts Magnet School, brought their poultry, while King City High School students Justin Mantel and Dexter Moss discussed their projects as part of the local FFA and 4-H club, respectively.
