SAN ARDO — Members of the San Ardo Boxing Club are currently in training to compete at the Battle Royale Boxing show that will take place in Oakland on Saturday, July 29.

According to San Ardo Boxing Club coach Rodolfo Tapia he will have six boxers ready to compete in the show, including Andy Lopez who recently returned to boxing after a layoff.

“Andy Lopez has been driving three times a week to San Ardo to train,” said Coach Tapia. “He is making a comeback after four years of not fighting. He is 26-year-old now and had 14 fights before he stopped boxing for us. In Oakland he will fight at 154.”

Joining Lopez at Oakland will be San Ardo boxers Kevin Perez at 132 pounds; Julio Martinez at 96; Marlen Arreola at 132; Daniel Verduzco at 92, and Garrett Mitchell at 160.
