SALINAS — Melissa Kirby, a 1993 King City High School graduate, and Michelle Courrejou, a 1981 Gonzales High School graduate, will enter the Hartnell College Athletic Hall of Fame this Saturday. Kirby enters the hall as a member of the 1994 Panther softball team, and Courrejou was chosen to the hall as a multi-sport athlete.

Kirby played as an outfielder for the Panther team that won the Coast Conference title under the guidance of head coach Andy Watt. At King City, Kirby was a member of the Lady Mustang volleyball, basketball and softball teams. Kirby was a solid hitter and spent some time behind the plate as a left handed catcher.

Courrejou played tennis, basketball and softball for Gonzales and was a member of the Panther basketball and softball teams.

The Hall of Fame program and lunch will take place at the Hartnell College Student Center. Five individual athletes will enter the Hall of Fame along with the 1992 men’s cross country team, the 1980 football team, and the 1994 softball team.
