KING CITY — Nearly 100 Monterey County residents took their chance at casino games at the third annual Rancho Cielo Casino Night at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds on April 7.
The night netted more than $25,000 for Rancho Cielo’s programs. Currently there are about six South County students who attend classes at the Salinas campus. The event included food made by the culinary students of Rancho Cielo and a student speaker who shared his journey.
Casino Night was led by chair Candi DePaw, who came together with six others three years ago to spread the word of what Rancho Cielo does and to gain more interest from South County. The Salinas Valley Fairgrounds was chosen as the space that was big enough to house interested parties.
The big winner of the night was Byron Lynn, who donated the proceeds partially back to Rancho Cielo and another non-profit agency.
