KING CITY — Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6747 of King City led the annual Memorial Day ceremony Monday, with help from Fort Hunter Liggett staff and Mayor Mike LeBarre, to honor those who have died while serving in the U.S. military. The program at King City Cemetery featured the announcement of the local VFW Veteran of the Year — outgoing Post Commander Cliff Williams, a Vietnam War veteran — and the presentation of wreaths created by local service groups, including the Boy Scouts (above). A barbecue at the VFW Hall followed the ceremony.
