MONTEREY COUNTY — Arts Council for Monterey County (Arts4MC) has announced the official opening of the nomination period for the Champions of the Arts Awards.
Arts4MC invites the community to recognize a Champion of the Arts — an individual, nonprofit organization or business that is making a profound and lasting impact on the arts in Monterey County. The award celebrates those who inspire creativity, promote cultural engagement and strengthen our community.
The nomination window opened Dec. 1 and continues through Jan. 20. Nominations can be submitted online via arts4mc.org/champions-of-the-arts.
“We urge everyone to help us highlight the extraordinary contributions of those who help enrich our lives through the arts,” said Jacquie Atchison, executive director of Arts4MC. “The Champions of the Arts Award is a distinguished honor recognizing those who have made significant contributions to the arts. Submitting a nomination is crucial to celebrating the diverse talent and dedication within the county, often gone unseen.”
Nominations are carefully reviewed by a jury composed of previous Champions. Award recipients will be honored at next year’s Champions of the Arts Awards Breakfast on Friday, April 17, at the Monterey Marriott Ferrante Room.
This awards breakfast not only provides a platform to celebrate these exemplary “champions” but also serves as a stage for local performances and a critical fundraiser to support Arts4MC’s vital programs, bringing the arts across Monterey County to students, at-risk youth, survivors of human trafficking, the unhoused, senior citizens, veterans and more.
