To the Editor:
As we gather with family and friends to celebrate the Thanksgiving feast of abundance, let’s take a moment to acknowledge those among us who struggle, particularly our immigrant neighbors.
Facing uncertainty, and sometimes downright hatred, let’s not forget today’s “least among us.”
Reach out to someone, send financial support to Dorothy’s Place or our local food distribution efforts. Be grateful for all we have; share with those who have less.
Dorothy’s Place in Salinas feeds people breakfast and lunch seven days a week, and provides food bags to many families. The need is great and the lines are long. Donations received by Nov. 30 will be matched and doubled thanks to a generous donor up to $200,000. Their address is: P.O. Box 2027, Salinas, CA 93902.
Locally we have two food pantries: Community Food Pantry, P.O. Box 751, King City, CA 93930; and Loaves and Fishes, P.O. Box 1667, King City, CA 93930.
